Huge congratulations go to our Sifu Derek Dawson, who was recently invested as a Guardian of Lau Gar. The award of Guardian is not only recognition of the skills and effort that Derek has put into his own training, and the running of the clubs, but also carries with a responsibility to promote, nurture, and always uphold, the values of the Lau Gar style.
It's been a very busy period, with members of the club attending not only the interclub tournament in Wexford, but also travelling to Birmingham, to compete in the BKFA Nationals. Well done to everyone who not only took home trophies and medals, but who also simply took part or came to support the club.
Well done to Sean Kealy, who took yet another 1st in points sparring, at the recent Best Of The Best Tournament at the weekend.
Congrats to Stephen Bennett who was presented with his Black Sash by Sifu Derek Dawson at class in Drogheda recently
Congrats to Simon Hugill who was presented with his Second Degree Black Sash by Master Yau at the BKFA Summer Course

Well done to Bartosz and John, who took and passed their grading for 7th cup (Brown Sash). Special mention must go to John "Joxer" O'Neill, who started training back in the early days of Lau Gar Ireland, and came back to training as a yellow sash, after a short break (of about 23 years). Well done fellas.
Master Yau returned to Ireland, to hold his annual weekend training course. Topics covered included Chi Sau and set applications.
Well done to everyone who took part in the recent interclub competition, especially the juniors. The standard, particulalry of the traditional sets was particulalry high.
2015 is the year of the Ram/Sheep. People born under this sign of the Chinese zodiac are tender, polite, filial, clever, and kind-hearted. They have special sensitivity to art and beauty and a special fondness for quiet living. They are wise, gentle and compassionate and can cope with business cautiously and circumspectly. In their daily life, they try to be economical. They are willing to take good care of others, but they should avoid pessimism and hesitation.
Gradings have started already for 2015. Huge congratulations go to Carly Anderson from the Navan club, who successfully passed her 7th cup (Brown Sash) grading recently in Wexford.
